The Experiment
Day 1
Well I woke up and said those 3 little words. I was a little scared, because well, what if God never did anything in my life worth mentioning. What would that mean? Would it mean I was a fake? Would it mean that God had given up on me? Hey...i just didnt know. I soon realized that it wasnt about God showing up at Rite Aid today to buy toilet paper. It was about me realizing that maybe it was the fact that the lady at Zaxby's brought my food to the table instead of me going to get it. Then as the day went on, our price to go too Romania went down by almost $100 (after going down about $300 yesterday). John was totally on the right track here. God is in the little things as well as the big things. If I would just slow down enough, shut up enough, and keep my eyes open, I would see that. If I did that, I could stop waiting on God to pop into my store. Of course he would buy Angel Soft if He did. I cant wait for tomorrow. ----David
Day 2
The only good things today that I can see is that I had a good sales week at work last week. I know thats a huge thing, especially right now, but it doesnt feel that way. My day was actually pretty rotten, and I am still in a bad mood even now as I write this. Hahaha....It seems kinda funny to write about that and not put "the face" on for everyone. I remain hopefull for a better tomorrow. ----David
Day 3
Today was a pretty good day I guess. My day started by getting a email from my best friend. He reprimanded me for not calling him when I was having some trouble. He was so right, and I so needed that. I had a pretty good visit from my DM and my Loss Prevention people. Then I showed a letter that I had prepared to give out tonight at Awana to a manager that was at my store helping me out today. The letter was to collect donations for our trip to Romania in July. Well when I walked back by, she handed be $20. She says here is some seed to sow into that. I was totally floored. Now, she is a very Godly lady, but for her to be so willing to give. God Rocks! ----David
Day 4
I think the surprise for today was just getting to know everyone in my C-group better. Its surprising when you hear people talk about things that you dont hear mentioned very often in church (spiritial warfare).
Day 5
Today was a pretty good day. First of all, I am surprised to see the lengths to which satan can go to crush the spirits of those excited to do God's work. I was surprised by my friend showing me the other side of a decision that I need to make. I was also surprised to find out that my ex-wife will be moving back to the Richmond Hill/Savannah area.
Day 6
Today was a pretty regular day. Thank God for that.
Day 7
God surprised me today by allowing worship service this morning to ROCK! I really like that, and seeing the seniors in the room with that scared look on their faces. Thanks God!
Day 8
Well my surprise for today was that Nathan got sick at school, and I had to take the rest of the day off so that I could go pick him up. Then later in the day we had to go do a walk through at the house we are having built. The surprise there was that we got a much nicer back door than we were supposed to get, we got recessed lighting in the kitchen (we werent supposed to get that), and we got a trey (spelling?) ceiling in the master bedroom. God not only Rocks, but He sure knows how to help with re-sale value. Thanks Daddy!
Day 9
God surprised me with some encouragement from a few of my customers today. He also sent some good advice from a friend. Other than that it was a regular day.
Day (I dunno)
Well I guess I fell off the wagon a little bit. You know what is awesome though? God didnt stop doing stuff. This weekend (starting with friday) has been full of surprises. Friday I found out that I may have to make a tough decision in reguards to missions. I had to seek advice from someone smarter than myself. Then saturday, my beautifull wife and I went to St Augustine for the say. It was fantastic. I had a blast just spending time with her. We went to her old church last night, and the worship was great!! I feel like we are really missing something on sunday mornings at our church. I had goose bumps. Then today I had a blast at our sunday school social at the park. God has shown me that He will give me just what I need, when I need it. My problem is just that I think I need it more often or in different quantities than He does. I realize that is a problem within my self, and not with God.
